Blogging hobbyists like me are used to writing in text interfaces of our blogs to create posts in it; but this sole act will require constant web access to be fruitful. Not to mention the less powerful and limited functionalities the Blog’s IDE has that we are constrained to work with.

In situations wherein you are always on the go and a steady internet access is not viable, or if your blog interface doesn’t offer much in spell-checking, formatting, and other Word Processing tasks, Microsoft’s Word 2007 (w/c is packaged with Office 2007) can directly be integrated to your current blog so that you can create Blog posts using Microsoft Word 2007.

Here’s how you can create, edit and publish Blog post directly from your MS Word 2007:

  1. Open Word 2007; click the “Office Button”, and select New.
  2. Select New Blog Post.
  3. You will be prompted by this pop-up:
  4. Select Register Now.
  5. A Blog Registration Wizard will be shown and will ask you what your blog provider is. Select the appropriate blog then click Next.

  6. Depending on your selected Blog Provider, you will be either asked the blog URL and the username & password, or you will be only asked of a username & password. Input the appropriate data then click OK (You will need an Internet connection for this one)
  7. After successful registration, you are done and ready to create your blog.
  8. You can also specify the category for your post by clicking the Insert Category button on the menu
  9. Editing previously posted blogs are also easy by clicking the Edit Existing button and selecting a post you want to edit.
  10. Once you are done with writing your article, you can either save it (if you don’t have internet access yet), or directly publish it by clicking the Publish button.

This functionality of Word 2007 is quite helpful because you can now directly bring the power of Word 2007 right to your blog creation processes.

BTW, I’ve created, published and edited this post using only Word 2007.
